The Biggest Flex
Share
Motorcycles, creative businesses, and fancy offices aside
My biggest flex by far was when I finally started putting myself first.
I have lived most of my life feeling like I wasn’t good enough.
Outsourced my self worth without knowing it.
Relying on achievements, success, and relationships to feel worthy —
Which is partly why I've come this far.
Which is partly why I've come this far.
But it’s also why I have been hurt.
I’ve said yes when I should have said no.
I’ve said sorry when I should have said fuck off.
I have tried one more time when I should have taken my efforts elsewhere.
And I don’t leave the ship until I almost drown myself.
No one is going to thank you for almost drowning.
The right people wouldn’t let it come to that.
It’s when you start setting boundaries you realise who your real people are.
I’m not for everybody, and there is freedom in being okay with that.
If my boundaries triggers you, I will remove myself.
That’s probably the best trick to reveal someone’s true nature
Do they like you or do they like what you can do for them?
Be okay with being disliked.
YOU don’t have to like me, because I like me.
Work hard, chase likes, buy a couple of motorcycles, date a baddie, improve your status, make money… until you realize all you needed was a hug.
You have nothing to prove and the feeling of being enough comes from within.
Your friend,
Johan
